A simple tomato and onion salad that is sour and tasty, it can sometimes be a perfect touch to a good dinner.
It is a classic in the restaurant world to make a tomato and onion salad when you have a lot of tomatoes left over that need to be used, or if you have sliced ​​tomatoes into something else and have over a bunch.
You often see this salad on different salad buffets.

For me who grows a lot of tomatoes myself, it is absolutely perfect to make and it is so good and above all beautiful to use different kinds of tomatoes.
The same applies to the onion, you can vary it by using different types of onion. Yellow onion, red onion, leek or any other onion that you think is good. Or you make a mixture of different types of onions.

If you want to increase the taste a little extra, you can chop down some fresh basil and mix in the salad, it gives a super good taste.

Which vinegar you should use to make a really good tomato and onion salad, is very individual. I think it depends on what kind of food to serve it for.
Should you eat meat, take a red wine vinegar or balsamic vinegar.
If it's fish, then maybe you should choose a white wine vinegar or maybe white balsamic vinegar.
You get to test yourself until the best result for that particular moment.

Ingredients

Yields4 Servings
 14 oz Fresh tomatoesPreferably mixed varieties and colors.
 2.47 oz OnionYellow onion / red onion / leek or other onion you like.
 4 tbsp VinegarRed / white / balsamic depending on taste.
 3 tbsp Olive oil
 0.50 tsp Salt
 Fresh herbs (optional)Ex. basil, oregano, parsley.

Instructions

Slice the tomatoes and onion. You can also chop the onion if you prefer.

Put the vegetables in a bowl / bowl and mix in the other ingredients.
Stir to mix everything together and season with salt and pepper.

Place in a nice bowl and serve.
